Molecular Genetics Laboratory at MMGL

The MMGL Molecular Genetics Laboratory functions under the direction of Dr. Chen Yang and emphasizes testing for diseases that are predominantly caused by inherited changes in one or more genes. A particular focus is the development and implementation of testing for rare conditions using DNA sequencing, methylation analysis, array-based gene dosage analysis, quantitative PCR and selected SNP testing. A Research and Development component promotes research to expand testing capabilities for new conditions and the use of genetic tools in decisions affecting care.
